Chat Archive privacy policy

Chat Archive is a browser extension from Red Kodiak Labs. Its sole purpose is to save the ChatGPT conversation open in the current tab as a local TXT or Word (.docx) file.

Data the extension handles

When you click the Chat Archive toolbar button on a ChatGPT page, the extension temporarily reads the current page title, URL, and the conversation messages loaded in that tab. Chat content may contain your own text, personal communications, links, code, and other information you entered into ChatGPT. If automatic message detection fails, you may select text on the page and save that selection instead.

The extension uses this information only to show a message count and generate the file you request. It does not read other tabs, cookies, passwords, or browsing history.

Storage, sharing, and retention

Chat Archive has no account, server, analytics, advertising, or network requests. Red Kodiak Labs does not receive, store, sell, or share your conversation content. Processing happens in your browser. The generated file is saved through your browser's normal download flow and remains on your device until you delete it. The extension does not keep a separate copy after the popup closes.

The extension's use of page data is limited to the export function you choose. It does not use that data for advertising, profiling, or any unrelated purpose, and Red Kodiak Labs personnel cannot read it through the extension.

Permissions

• activeTab grants temporary access to the tab you are viewing when you click the extension.
• scripting runs the packaged export code in that tab after your click.

These permissions are used only for the export function. No broad site access is requested.

Your control

You decide when to open the popup and which format to download. You can remove the extension at any time from Chrome's Extensions page and delete any downloaded files from your device. Privacy questions can be sent to contact@redkodiaklabs.com.
